Long-form Content

Below are samples of work produced as part of Keystone Symposia’s “Virtual Keystone Symposia” (VKS) initiative. Virtual Keystone Symposia is an initiative to extend the reach and impact of life-science research to broader audiences worldwide, via digital media technologies. I was integral to developing and managing the VKS platform as a whole (see also: web), in addition to producing both open- and paid- access video content that draws audiences and speakers from around the world.

ePanel

The ePanel is a roughly 2-hour webinar style format which traditionally featured a 45 min. pre-recorded panel discussion, followed by a live broadcast Q&A component. These panel discussions and live Q&A sessions feature scientific thought-leaders as they address compelling scientific and global health questions. Topics cover cutting-edge research advances, tools and directions, as well as big picture conversations at the intersection of research, medicine and society. I filmed and edited the pre-recorded elements, as well as managing the broadcast platform and day-of logistics for live broadcast.

eSymposia

With the closures brought about by COVID-19, Keystone Symposia was forced to cancel all in-person conferences for the 2020-2021 season. The VKS platform was quickly adapted to re-imagine the in-person meeting and convert all 50 meetings to a fully “virtual” format. I served as technical producer and platform administrator for over 50 multi-day virtual meetings during this time. These live events included essential networking opportunities that Keystone Symposia meetings are known for, through interactive forums including Q&A discussions, breakout discussion chat-rooms and ePoster sessions.

Community Lectures

Filmed on location at University of Colorado in Boulder, these community lectures were intended to engage the broader Boulder community by breaking down complex topics into informational and entertaining scientific talks by eminent scientists from all over the world. These were recorded with a portable kit of Canon C100 mkII's, a Sigma 100-400mm long-lens, lavaliers and field mixer.
